The 2002 model, in particular, with its robust engine and refined styling, captured the hearts of driving enthusiasts around the world.

Powered by a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine, the 1976 BMW 2002 produces approximately 120 horsepower. Paired with a four-speed manual transmission, this engine delivers a lively and responsive driving experience. This mechanical setup — both reliable and efficient — allowed the car to reach impressive speeds for its time while maintaining reasonable fuel consumption.
Design
The design of the BMW 2002 is defined by its elegant simplicity, featuring clean lines and a compact shape that embody functionality and sporty dynamism. Instantly recognizable with its round headlights and iconic kidney grille, the model is unmistakably BMW. Its aesthetics not only defined the brand’s style in that era but continue to influence modern BMW design language today.
Interior
The interior layout of the 1976 BMW 2002 reflects German pragmatism and quality, with a focus on ergonomics and driver comfort. The seats provide firm support suited for spirited driving, and the dashboard is functionally arranged, with instruments and controls positioned for easy access. Though more minimalistic than contemporary standards, the cabin was considered comfortable and spacious for a compact sedan of its time.
